  18. Reselect allows a SCSI device to "let go" of the bus while it's doing 
  19. something, so other devices can use it.  For instance, in a tape backup of 
  20. your hard drive, the tape gets a bunch of data, knows it will be busy for 
  21. a time while writing it, and lets go of the bus.  The controller can then 
  22. read more data off the hard drive while the tape is still busy writing.

  24. Many older devices don't support reselect, and require it to be disabled 
  25. for them or the whole SCSI bus.  You'll have to check the documents for 
  26. your controller to find out how to do this (if needed).
